Consultant Psychiatrist
Dr Faizal is a Fellow of the Royal College of psychiatrists, United Kingdom and Royal Australian and New Zealand College of psychiatrists. He has worked as a consultant psychiatrist in the UK and Australia for 18 years. Dr Faizal has Royal College accreditation in General adult and Addictions psychiatry. His clinical expertise includes disorders such as ADHD, depression, anxiety, psychosis, bipolar disorder, PTSD, alcohol, and drug misuse. He has a special interest in adult ADHD and provides a comprehensive and client focused ADHD assessment and a holistic management plan. At Empowered Minds he will be offering services assessing and managing adult ADHD.

Dr Faizal has experience working with patients experiencing psychiatric sequelae of brain injury and neurodegenerative disorders such as Parkinson’s, Huntington’s, and late stage dementia. He has published in international journals in areas such as addictions and mood disorders. He is passionate about timely and safe access to care for patients and has been awarded Clinical Excellence awards for patient centred care as a clinical director in the United Kingdom. He moved to Australia in 2015 to work as a clinical Director for a large metro service in Brisbane. He currently works in public health and private practice in Australia.
